Style Lane Catalogue
Reference boards for choosing how Digital Walls should look and feel. These are design research assets, not production sprites.
Part of the master Visual Catalogue. They sit beside the visual identity moodboards and map four craft lanes:
| Lane | Job | Filtering / scale |
|---|---|---|
| NES 8-bit | Hard readable silhouettes, tiny color budget | Nearest-neighbor, integer scale |
| SNES 16-bit | Short shade ramps, cohesive tile language | Nearest-neighbor, integer scale |
| MapleStory cartoon | Cute collectible objects, ornate edit chrome | Soft upscale OK; colored selout; top-left light |
| Lofi Girl | Visit/share atmosphere, calm room presence | Smooth illustration; one warm key light |
Recommended product split: Visit mode leans Lofi; catalog objects lean Maple; palette discipline borrows SNES; edit chrome can use Maple-style 9-slice panels.
Boards
1. Four-lane comparison
Same subject (lamp + plant on a shelf) rendered four ways so differences are easy to spot.

2. Maple-style object catalogue
Inventory-sheet study of wall objects with shared outline weight, top-left lighting, and a cream/wood/amber/sage kit.

3. Lofi room atmosphere
Full-bleed visit-mode mood: amber lamp against plum shadow, rain window, quiet props, almost no UI chrome.

4. Visit vs edit mode split
Same wall idea in two roles — Lofi immersion for visit/share, Maple inventory chrome for edit.

How to use
1. Pick lane roles per surface (visit, catalog, edit, focus) before commissioning art. 2. Treat these as style targets for QA: outline weight, light direction, palette cohesion, motion restraint. 3. Do not mix nearest-neighbor pixel art, soft lofi paint, and Maple bevels on one surface without a hierarchy.
Provenance
Generated as research illustrations for the frontend style playbook (Oct 2026). Not sourced from MapleStory or Lofi Girl assets; inspired by their visual systems only.
